This is going to be exciting to read! Converting to ascending AC is almost the same as THAC0. You could always use the "to-hit" tables out of the 1e DMG too.

At the encouragement of @CastleGrief I'll be trying my hand at descending AC for this. It went pretty well for the first combat. Thanks for the follow!

I get it, I prefer ascending AC now. It makes better sense logically, I started with 1e in 1981 so THAC0 isn't that big a deal.

Great choice choosing OSRIC/AD&D. I just picked up a bunch of books and am getting into the swing of things. This will be perfect for inspiration and motivation! Really looking forward to this.

Whoops missed the part where you said you have never played. Really looking forward to this and will definitely be following closely.

Do you have previous experience with AD&D? Now that I have a bunch of stuff for it I wouldn't mind running it but my players just aren't down. Perhaps once the new edition of OSRIC hits it may have ascending AC which would really help me get a campaign going. I just grabbed a bunch of Advanced Adventure Modules and there pretty cool. Great for just dropping into homebrew settings.

Castle Grief encouraged me to try descending AC/THAC0 so that's what I've done for the single combat I've had. It's not too bad, but I can definitely see people who are used to Ascending not wanting to even deal with it. I'm very much enjoying 1e. Glad I took the time to learn to play it.

I hope to one day join the ranks. Trying to ease in with OD&D. But I do foresee it happening especially since I spent far too much on AD&D Greyhawk supps.

I'm looking at reading through Whitebook FMAG to play Studded Leather after the end of my AD&D series. I love these old games!

I just picked up a half dozen copies of this after having it recommended, and really like what I see.
